Lightning Tweets

If you have been invited to give a Lightning Tweet, here are some rules and tips:

• We will be publishing lightning Tweets from 12 noon – 1pm (GMT) on 6th November from the SIG accounts (@BES_Tropical and @BESConservation).

• Each Tweet will start “[lightning emoji] by [your Twitter handle]: ”, using 8 characters (+ the number of characters of your Twitter handle).  You will therefore need to take this into account when setting up your Tweet, which is 280 characters maximum.

• To maximise the amount of information included in your Tweet, we encourage the creative use of media, such as pictures, GIFs, figures, videos, QR codes – but you will only be able to display one of these in your Tweet.

Please send us your Tweet, via the contact form (or click the button below), before midnight GMT on Monday 2nd November, along with a maximum of one media attachment.

If you would like to include the names or Twitter handles of co-authors, please also send this and we will add them as a comment to your Tweet (it won't be included in the 280 character limit).
